Day 2: Rain!

We got up early, showered, got dressed in hiking apparel and walked out to see ... RAIN! Apparently the sky opened up overnight. Mike scurried to the car to get coats and we headed to continental breakfast. We met a nice man from Yuma, AZ and his granddaughter. Made for pleasant conversation over breakfast. He is way into the real estate market, we think we counted a dozen houses in four states, but still balked at our house prices. He tried to give us a DVD about a lawyer on retainer in the greater 48 states for $35 a month. Good deal if you're in real estate and have contracts to worry about, but not us. Hard bagels and yucky oatmeal made up our sustenance this morning, but hey, it was free.

Now we're packing everything back up in the car, trying to run and take refuge under the hatch door in between downpours. An old steam train just passed by so Mike is giddy.

We're moving on to Great Basin for the day and then to Bryce Canyon tonight. We'll see Bryce Canyon the next day before heading to Capital Reef. We'll probably end up staying there two nights or maybe head on to Moab. We'll be camping, so unless Mike gets an itch for a Starbucks that has WiFi, we can't post til the 23rd. Wish us luck, DRY luck! If it continues to rain we may hole up somewhere and read in the car!

No miles yet, but 270-290 miles planned!
